If a project gets off track or falls apart completely it’s usually because of communication problems. If you have to oversee multiple projects with multiple people working on them it can be almost impossible to keep everyone in the loop at all times. Important information can unintentionally fall through the cracks.

This is why the online software Basecamp was created. If you have a business, basecamp works equally well with inside employees as it does with outside freelance workers. We use Basecamp because it simplifies communication with our clients and help us to deliver on our 3 promises.

Our 3 Promises:

1. We won’t promise what we can’t deliver. We will set reasonable deadlines and meet them.

2. We will complete all aspects of a job. You won’t have to ask twice.

3. We will keep you informed. It’s important to know where things stand so we will keep you up to date.

Basecamp is a great tool to help us to follow through on the promises we make to our clients. We use it to organize our projects. It also allows us to keep track of important messages, to-do items, milestones, writeboards (documents), and files.

The links below have great videos explaining how it works.

There is a very small learning curve, but over the course of our work, Basecamp will reduce your time spent on the project, while improving the final product.

Messages – http://basecamphq.com/demos/messages/
Sending messages through Basecamp is a great way to notify people of the important things that need to be done.

To-Do – http://www.basecamphq.com/demos/todos/
There are numerous tasks to complete, but keeping track of them is easy with the To-Do lists. If you think of a task, add it to a current to-do list, or create a new list and assign it to someone.

The deadlines.

Yet another way that Office 2.0 tools can help businesses. We highly recommend using Basecamp for your business as well.
