Have you ever had a great idea for a product? An idea just waiting to get out of your head and into the marketplace?

Quirky is a service that uses a collaborative process that makes great ideas come to life. For only $99 USD anyone can submit a working name for a product idea, a little description of the idea, sketches, photos, or other files to help illustrate the idea to the Quirky community. The community then rates and influences the ideas and selects one product per week to continue to developing.

Even if your product isn’t the chosen product, you still receive some market research about who liked the idea, who didn’t and why. If you are dead set on getting your product developed, you can use that data to build your dream on your own or even resubmit your revised idea.

A product will not go into full production until enough people commit to purchasing the product. Through the Quirky online store, upcoming products are sold at a discount.

So if you have a great idea for a product or are really good at coming up with catchy names, give it a try!
