We just made a Switch Animated video for FourNote.com.  FourNote.com is the kind of next generation social networking that I”ve been waiting  for.  It’s got great user controlled security and privacy features and policies. And it’s designed to keep friends, co-workers, family, all happily in the spheres you want them in. Yet it’s easy to have people in various spheres if that’s needed too. FourNote lets you share an exhaustive range of file types. Think Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, Illustrator, Photoshop, EPS, Postscript, Zip, Rar and more. Check out the video here:

Now I’m feeling more and more confident that social networks are a viable alternative to e-mail in the workplace.  By using FourNote at Switch we could have a script writers’ “sphere” and an animators’ “sphere”.  We could talk one on one or talk to the group or have the groups talk to one another. All useful when you are working in a collaborative way. (And “collaborative” is Switch’s middle name.)

Come to think of it, I could even have a “blog reader” sphere and talk more directly to you…but for now leave me a comment and let me know what you think of next generation social networks at work, rest or play.
