There is so much that is catchy about today’s video post. Who doesn’t sing along to New York, New York when they hear it?

The launch of a Turkish-language edition of the NY Times’ International Weekly, distributed for free with the Sunday edition of Turkey’s Sabah newspaper, was introduced with this one minute video animation. Featuring elegant black and white calligraphic stylings of “places rendered as words”, the video uses excerpts from sections of the first issue of the newspaper to build the structures – financial pages for Wall Street and arts and entertainment pages for Times Square.

Enjoy the typographic tour across Manhattan, before crossing the Brooklyn Bridge (my favourite part), and arrive on the Bosphorus with views of Istanbul.

Because I’m a big fan of whiteboard videos, I love any variation of the black and white theme and this typographic video captures that attention to detail. At one minutes, it’s a quick trip to NYC and Turkey and a can’t miss video.
