Happy Holidays from Switch Video! For the next 8 days, we’ll be counting down some of our favorite explainer videos and discussing a few key points as to what makes these videos great.
Fifth on the list is Intermedia, a one-stop shop for cloud business applications.
Check out the video below:
Intermedia takes the 5th spot on our Explainer Video Countdown because of its unique visual storytelling. The paper cutout animation style is fun and allows the problem of the story to manifest clearly through the exaggerated actions of the characters.
Using characters is great because you can use your buyer persona to the fullest extent imaginable. The persona in this video is a multi-device and tech savvy sales person who has to keep up with potential customers across different channels. By highlighting how difficult it is to manage all those channels through the animation, we shine a light on the solution and easily explain why Intermedia is the best option.
Like paper cutout style animation? We saved a few trees by illustrating these elements digitally which not only saved time in the production process but also allows for revisions and future updates. One of animation’s greatest advantages is that you can re-edit the video if and when needed. With an actual paper cutout animation, or live action for that matter, you would have to reshoot the elements and arrange to have all the same actors/props/locations in place – at a cost of time and money. If your company later decides to change a logo, a slogan, or even a whole character – animation facilitates the easy swapping of these elements at minimal cost. With animated video you are ensuring a long and flexible shelf life for your video.
