We’re always happy when our clients are pleased with the creative services we provide them, but it may be just a little more satisfying when our handiwork is seen by roughly 7 million television viewers.

Shark Tank, a television show airing on ABC, gives passionate would-be and actual business owners the chance to showcase their bright ideas in front of a panel of judges who individually decide whether to provide financial backing. Well-versed in the world of entrepreneurship, the judges – a.k.a., the sharks – listen to pitches, consider the offer, and then get down to business negotiating–this is where the fun begins. You get real insight into the mind of a venture capitalist when he or she is deciding whether to use their money to support an idea, product, or startup. And it’s proved to be a popular model. Entertainment Weekly explained that Shark Tank hit the 7-million viewer mark in January, and it has become one of the most popular shows during the Friday night time slot on ABC.

That’s one of the reasons we’re so excited to see one of our clients, ZinePak, showcased on the startup-centric program. And it’s not just the fact that the company will be featured on Shark Tank, but that the show’s producers were so insistent on using the explainer video we created for ZinePak during the broadcast.

“The Shark Tank producers loved our Switch explainer video so much that they specifically requested that we use it in our pitch,” ~ Brittany Hodak, ZinePak founder.

Leading up to the day the company taped its pitch for broadcast, the producers explained they were big fans of the “video on [ZinePak’s] site with the animated people.”

ZinePak’s explainer video has already been living on the company’s website for two years, and it has become more than just content. The company explained how the video has transcended its role as a digital resource to help customers understand what the company does and has truly become ingrained as part of its identity. This fits in perfectly with Shark Tank’s format, wherein the perfect pitch puts you in the best position to get the sharks’ support. Explainer videos not only speak for your brand in a way that connects with your audience, but essentially sells buyers on what you’re about. The video is the ideal pitch which will be conveniently featured on a show that’s all about the pitch.
