Looking for more creative ways to use video marketing in your sales funnel? While video can contain content all on its own, you can also use it to promote other written materials your brand may be putting out there. Who says trailers were only for movies? Creating a short trailer to promote a white paper or eBook is a great way to get people interested in your upcoming piece and increase conversions.
Ann Handley, chief content officer for MarketingProfs, suggested in an interview with Vidyard that businesses make a video trailer to promote text-based content. She recommends drawing attention to a few key points, but make sure to finish off with a strong call to action – like downloading your eBook.
Here’s an excellent example of “Trust Me, I’m Lying: Confessions of a Media Manipulator” by Ryan Holiday. He gets his main points across in about 60 seconds but leaves you wanting more. His graphics are stimulating and intriguing and his tone gives you an idea how the book is portrayed. The video ends with a soft call to action telling you when to expect the book and where to look for it – preparing you for the next step in the sales funnel.
With a little creativity and a strong call to action, videos along with eBooks or white papers can work together as part of a successful marketing strategy.
