About our company
We create short animated videos that take something complex and make it fun, simple and easy to understand. Take a look at our portfolio to see some samples of our work.
We’ve been producing these types of videos since 2006 and have been a founding member on the Common Craft Explainer Network since its inception in November 2008. We also have a team of animators, script writers and project managers who have several years of professional experience and education in their fields.
We do everything in-house. In our office, we have a great team of experienced animators, project managers, marketing specialists and business directors that work closely to make each and every project a success from beginning to end. Click here to meet our team. Watching the collaboration on projects as they happen is a lot of fun. This collaboration can only happen because we are all under the same roof.
Having an in-house team is a big part of what sets us apart from other video producers. By working in the same space as each other we are able to collaborate on projects to heighten creativity and track our progress to meet deadlines and work more efficiently. Web video is our niche and we have a very experienced team that produces several videos at a time. We are also a founding member of the Common Craft Explainer Network, which to be honest is a huge honor given Lee and Sachi’s renowned videos.
The following are some of the companies that have trusted Switch to tell their story:

About Our Videos
These three points will help explain why simple, explanatory videos are so powerful.
Keep it simple.
When trying to get a message across, it’s important to only include relevant information and movement because our working memory only has a certain capacity. Non essential information will take up that space and detract from the learning.
Know your audience.
You need to know the prior knowledge of your audience because new knowledge is built on that foundation, and it’s much easier to retrieve when it’s attached to something they already know and understand.
Use powerful learning tools.
This relates to the dual coding theory, which means combining auditory and visual information together. When you only use audio, only 10 percent of the information you provide is retained 72 hours later. This is compared to 68 percent when you include visuals.
And this is why simple, explanatory videos are so powerful.
- .flv file for your website (flash)
- .mov file for presentations (QuickTime)
We use a hosting service called Wistia. Wistia is a fantastic service for hosting your video. It provides you with detailed stats on how many people view your video as well as how long they view it for. It also makes it very easy for you to embed the video on your website.
Take the tour here and contact us with any questions you may have. The feature we find most helpful is the Video Heatmaps, which you can watch a video on to see exactly how it works to track your visitor stream.
Can I use the video to deliver a presentation projected onto a big screen? Will it appear fuzzy or distorted?
The .mov file works well on a big screen. If you have specific needs we can work with you to meet your expectations.
We have professional writers on staff that have loads of experience with taking complex concepts and breaking them down so that they are both fun and easy to understand. Having the script written by someone with experience in this type of web video is very important to the process of producing the right video for your company. Our clients give us great feedback about this process and how we can help to take something complicated and make it easy to understand.
This depends on how you plan to use your video. For example, if you want a conceptual video to share on social media sites for the purpose of having it passed around by users to direct traffic back to a landing page then you would be best off with a 1 to 2 min video. If your video is going to live on a landing page and explain something in detail then you would probably want a 2 to 3 min video. We don’t recommend making any one video longer than 3 minutes, and we can offer personalized direction on this matter once we learn more about your business objectives.
We work with a large database of voice-over artists and for each script we do, we get more than 75 artist samples. We take these 75 samples and narrow them down to the 6 best ones to share with you to help you in your selection.
We can find the perfect voice-over artist for just about any language and any accent you want for your video.
A white-label video is a generic version of the original video we have produced for you. It can include minor narration changes, rebranding (change current brand names to different brand names and URL/Logo changes. The cost for this is in accordance with the amount of changes you’d like to make and the time associated with those changes. Please contact us for more details.
Yes. We can have the video translated into whatever language you like and change visuals accordingly for a fraction of the cost of the original video.
